News: Suzanne Wilkins joins Acumen Engineering

Acumen Engineering is pleased to announce that Suzanne Wilkins has recently joined our team.

Suzanne WilkinsMs. Wilkins is a Senior Environmental Planner who has provided environmental planning consulting services for over 32 years within the Truckee/Lake Tahoe region and other regions in California and Nevada. She manages the preparation of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) environmental documents; acquires federal, state, and local regulatory permits; prepares regional and local planning studies; conducts stakeholder and public outreach coordination; and prepares other environmental and regulatory compliance documents. Suzanne has extensive agency experience with many federal, state, and local agencies. These agencies include the: U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPOs), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Tahoe Resource Conservation District, TRPA, Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board, Caltrans, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, California Department of Water Resources, California Department of Parks and Recreation, California State Lands Commission, California Tahoe Conservancy, Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, Placer County, Washoe County, Town of Truckee and the cities of South Lake Tahoe, Reno, and many other cities and counties within California and Nevada.

Many of her projects have included dam removal and dam improvements, water quality improvements, stormwater management and monitoring, river and stream restoration, water and wastewater treatment facilities including large pipeline projects, underground utilities, linear transportation projects for public agencies and freight railroad companies, and trails. She has also provided planning services for hospital and educational facilities, affordable housing projects, and commercial projects in the region. She has developed good relationships with the regulatory agencies to facilitate positive outcomes for both the project proponents and the public who benefit from these projects.
