Dan Wilkins

Dan has 37 years of public and private sector experience in the civil/transportation engineering profession, and served as the Director of Public Works and Engineering for the Town of Truckee, California for 28 years.  Dan lives in eastern Placer County on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe and has significant experience in successfully working on boards and commissions including 20 years as an elected director of the Tahoe City Public Utility District Board of Directors, 8 years as a director on the Tahoe Truckee Sanitation Agency, 6 years on the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency Board, 24 years as a board member on the Truckee/North Tahoe Transportation Management Agency, and service on multiple other  local agency committees and commissions. Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, and holds Civil and Traffic Engineering licenses in the State of California.

Dan is also a volunteer Member of Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue which is an OES division of the Placer County Sheriff’s office tasked with performing search and rescue operations for lost and injured individuals in the wilderness of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range.

Dan’s interests and activities include skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, dirt biking, hiking,
river rafting, mountain biking, fishing, and community theater.
