Trout Creek Phase 1B Rehabilitation
& Utility Undergrounding

Waterways has been contracted by the Town of Truckee (Town) to remove a concrete channel from an urban stream and provide a natural bottom stream that contains the 100 year flood plain.

School Street - Trout Creek in cement channel

As a subconsultant, Acumen is providing civil design services for roadways and parking areas and utility relocation.  The work involves reconstruction of Jibboom Street from Bridge Street to Trout Creek Road with sidewalks, bike lane and drainage; laying out the parking on the south side of the creek improvements to minimize parking loss; laying out roadway improvements at the bridge structures to ensure bridge widths and alignment are located thoughtfully for subsequent projects; vehicle and pedestrian protection adjacent to the steep slopes of the proposed creek; road realignment of Trout Creek Road in relation to Jibboom Street; project phasing; and constructability.

E Street - Future Undergrounding of overhead utilities

The improvements also include undergrounding overhead power, and communications on Jibboom Street, School Street, E Street, and Church Street as well as relocation of underground electric and water beneath the proposed structures. It is anticipated approximately twelve structures within the project area may require additional equipment near the existing service entrance to convert overhead power to underground power. Coordination with utility providers (TDPUD water and electric, AT&T, Altice, and SW Gas) will be provided.
